Topique-eau vive

This artwork fit into the continuité of the project Tropiques begun by the designer in 2009. Its gaol is to explore the use of natural flux as wind, rain and light inside the urban space. This new piece thought for the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan in Aix-en-Provence is a kind of fountain working thanks to the muscular energy.

Topique-eau vive is composer by a basin and manual pumps that the visitors can activate. In pushing the pumps, the air moves and creates bubbles on the surface of the water. According to the number and the location of the people who use this machine, the movement of water is more or less intense. Through this contemplative proposition, the artwork want to enlighten the use of muscular energy as a endless and free resource.Â
